At 1648hrs, SCDF was alerted to a fire at a HDB unit at Blk 18 Jalan Sultan. Upon receiving the notification,1 Fire Engine, 1 Red Rhino, 2 Fire Bikes, 1 Ambulance and 1 Support Vehicle were dispatched.

Upon arrival, a unit on the 3^rd floor of the Blk was on fire. SCDF fire-fighters quickly deployed 2 water jets. The fire was confined within the unit and was brought under control within 10 minutes. As a safety precaution, residents from the 4^th to 6^th floor of the block were evacuated. At the time of this report, there were no reports of anyone being injured. The cause of fire is under investigation.
