SCDF was alerted to a case of fire at Block 4, Marsiling Road at 1013hrs.1 Fire Engine, 1 Red Rhino, 2 Fire Bikes, 1 support vehicle, 4 ambulances were immediately dispatched and arrived at the incident site within five minutes.

Upon arrival, SCDF personnel found the fire raging at the 11^th floor and thick black smoke could be seen. The fire involved discarded items and was confined to the lift lobby area. SCDF firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus equipment, extinguished the fire using 2 water jets within 10 minutes.

SCDF conducted forcible entry on 18 units located at the affected floor and rescued a total of 7 occupants. In addition, SCDF together with the police evacuated about 15 occupants staying one floor above and below the affected floor.

A first aid point was also set up at the ground level void deck area of the incident location to provide immediate medical treatment for residents who felt unwell as a result of the fire.

A total of 11 casualties were conveyed to the hospital by SCDF ambulances for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.

2 children (Males) were conveyed to Kandang Kerbau Women"s and Children"s Hospital for smoke inhalation.

5 Males and 4 Females were conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital for smoke inhalation.
