Rescue Operation at Blk 4 Sago Lane

At 1504hrs, SCDF received a call informing that a gondola"s wire had given way and that a worker was dangling at Blk 4 Sago Lane. SCDF responded within 7 minutes to the location.

On arrival, the crew found a M/Chi worker hanging at the 6th storey in the dangling gondola. SCDF rescued the said person by pitching a ladder at the 4th storey concourse to reach the trapped worker and secure him to a rescue rope which was lowered by another team of rescuer stationed at unit #08-127. This is a delicate operation that has to be conducted without causing any significant movement that may destabilise the gondola. Once secured, the said worker was hoisted up by our rescuer to safety at unit #08-127.

The rescue operation was completed within 15 minutes. The said worker sustained no visible injury and was not conveyed to hospital.
