Road Traffic Accident along Woodlands Ave 12

At 0907hrs, SCDF received a call for a road traffic accident involving a car along Woodlands Ave 12.

 

1 Fire Engine, 1 Red Rhino, 2 Firebikes, 1 Ambulance and 2 Supporting Vehicleswere immediately dispatched to the incident location. Upon arrival, the crew found a female individual trapped in the driver"s seat of the car. The front right door of the car was severely impacted inwards. The dashboard had also caved inwards and pinned the casualty from the waist downwards in the driver"s seat.

 

SCDF rescuers used hydraulic rescue equipment to lift the dashboard up and separate the driver"s seat from the affected door before rescuing the casualty. SCDF paramedic stabilised the casualty while rescue operations were ongoing. The rescue operations took about 1 hour.

 

SCDF paramedic onsite assessment " the casualty is suspected to have sustained head injury. The casualty also sustained fracture to the left leg and the right hip.

 

The casualty (Female/Indian/20s) was conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital via SCDF ambulance
