Temporary Closure of Central Expressway Tunnels for Emergency Exercise
The entire Central Expressway (CTE) tunnels will be temporarily closed to traffic in both directions on Sunday, 14 June 2009, from 12.00am to 6.00am. This is to facilitate an emergency exercise to be jointly conducted by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and the Land Transport Authority (LTA) during these hours.
This joint exercise is part of an ongoing effort by the SCDF and the LTA to sharpen and enhance the operational readiness of its emergency responders, and the coordination between the two agencies in dealing with emergencies in the CTE tunnels.
Motorists are advised to use the following alternative routes:
Towards the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE)
Closure Location | Alternative Route | |

b. | Merchant Road to CTE | Use Merchant Road towards Chin Swee Road |
Towards the Seletar Expressway (SLE)
