About Us
The Civil Defence Academy (CDA) is the premier training institution of the Singapore Civil Defence Force. The academy is committed to conducting professional and specialized training in the field of civil defence, covering a wide range of training courses such as disaster management, firefighting, urban search and rescue, emergency medical response and many more.
Since the Academy’s opening in 1999, it has served both the SCDF’s internal training needs, and also provided training for more than 8,470 international participants from over 137 countries. Apart from its international courses, the Academy also provides customised training consultancies and in-country capacity building.
Our Campuses
CDA @ Jalan Bahar
CDA @ Jalan Bahar, the main campus, is equipped with state-of-the-art fire and rescue training simulators for the conduct of realistic training. In addition, the main campus also hosts a wide variety of training facilities, including WiFi-enabled classrooms and lecture facilities, gymnasiums, swimming pools, a running track, as well as accommodation facility with a capacity of up to 1500-beds. CDA @ Jalan Bahar also houses the National Service Training Centre (NSTC), which provides basic training to all newly enlisted Civil Defence Full-Time National Servicemen (NSF). All NSFs undergo basic training in NSTC, before undergoing further vocational training within CDA to prepare them for deployment in the various Civil Defence Units. |
CDA @ Mandai
CDA @ Mandai is a part of the Home Team Tactical Centre (HTTC). Standing on eight hectares of land, CDA@Mandai is equipped with state-of-the-art simulators. This enables the training site to cover a wide spectrum of firefighting, search and rescue operations, tactics and techniques, scenario-based trainings, and command and control training. |
CDA @ Ubi
CDA @ Ubi is a satellite campus where lecture-based trainings are conducted and is catered towards the working adults. The campus consists of mainly 4 smart classrooms and are served as venues for community courses. |
