W.e.f. 1 Jul 2024, SCDF will change its sender ID for NS Mobilisation matters from “91449746” to “80709995”. This follows the gov.sg SMS Sender ID announcement on 13 Jun 2024 and aims to help recipients recognise and authenticate SMSes from SCDF.

Please be informed that Bukit Batok Fire Station will not be hosting the weekly Saturday Fire Station Open House from 30 Sep 2023 to Feb 2025. Please refer to the list of other Fire Stations that are available for visits.

The SCDF Specialists

To handle its increased spectrum of challenges associated with saving lives and properties, the SCDF recruits and trains its operational staff to be specialists to enhance its operational effectiveness, comprising of various personnel including:

  1. Uniformed Officers: These include specialists and officers in Fire and Rescue/Paramedics, and other operational roles who are trained to respond to emergencies such as fires, medical crises, and rescue operations.
  2. Full-time National Servicemen (NSFs): Young men serving their mandatory National Service in operational roles, contributing to SCDF’s mission of saving lives and protecting property.
  3. Civilian Staff: Non-uniformed personnel who support SCDF’s operations through administrative, technical, and professional roles, including roles in human resource, logistics, public affairs, and more.
  4. Operationally Ready National Service (ORNS) Men: Full-time NSFs who have completed their mandatory two-year service with SCDF. After their full-time service, they transition into ORNS, where they remain on standby to be called up for reservist duties over a period of several years.
  5. Volunteers: Individuals who contribute to SCDF's mission through the Civil Defence Auxiliary Unit (CDAU), providing additional manpower and expertise in various functions.

Together, these groups work in unison to ensure the safety and security of Singapore, handling a wide range of emergency situations and contributing to the nation’s resilience.
