Community Resilience Days
The SCDF’s four land Divisions, in partnership with People’s Association and Community Emergency and Engagement (C2E) Committees, organise Community Resilience (CR) Days to impart and equip Emergency Preparedness (EP) skills to members of the public. These include knowledge and skills on the Improvised First Aid Skills (IFAS) Plus, how to conduct Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), using a fire extinguisher, as well as fire safety tips.
As part of the CR Day, members of the public can also learn how to respond during National Emergencies, such as what to do when the Public Warning System is activated and where to find the nearest Civil Defence Public Shelters .
Upon being equipped with these life-saving skills, the public are encouraged to step forward and register as Community First Responders (CFRs) to assist those in distress in times of emergency. CFRs are vital in enabling our community to stay strong and resilient by assisting in grassroots’ emergency response efforts with the respective C2Es.
