News Release
11 September 2024
Island-Wide Sounding of the Public Warning System (PWS) Sirens on 15 September 2024 at 6:20pm
SCDF will be sounding the “Important Message” signal through the island-wide network of Public Warning System (PWS) sirens on Sunday, 15 September 2024 at 6:20pm. Do not be alarmed by the minute-long sounding exercise.
The signal will also sound for 20 seconds on all smartphones that have the SGSecure mobile app. This will be accompanied by a brief text message on the PWS sounding. To receive the signal and the text message, the app’s notification and alert settings must be enabled.
When you hear the “Important Message” signal, tune in immediately to any local radio station or Mediacorp TV channels for a brief message on the PWS. If you miss the message, visit go.gov.sg/pws to learn more about the PWS and its signals.
To prevent any undue public alarm, we seek your assistance to carry the above information in your news bulletins to remind the public on the PWS sounding.
