.At 1035hrs, SCDF received a call alerting us to a fire at No. 6 Hougang St 92. Upon receiving the notification, 1 Fire Engine, 1 Red Rhino, 2 Firebikes, 1 Firefly, 1 Supporting Vehicle, 3 ambulances were immediately dispatched.

SCDF arrived at No. 6 Hougang St 92 Regentville Condominium within 6 minutes. Smoke and flames were seen showing from two units on the 5th and 6th floor, Tower 5, of Regentville Condominum. A Chinese, male subject was also seen holding onto the kitchen window ledge of the unit on the 5th floor.

SCDF firefighters immediately conducted forced entry into the unit on the 5th floor. Upon gaining entry, SCDF rescued a male, Indian and guided him to safety. A fire fighter rushed straight to the kitchen window and pulled the male, Chinese to safety. A security guard who assisted in the rescue operations had to be taken to hospital due to smoke inhalation. The fire in the bedroom was brought under control with 1 water jet.

Concurrent with the fire fighting and rescue operations on the 5th floor, SCDF also executed forced entry into the unit on the 6th floor and another unit on the 7th floor as there was smoke coming out. These two units are directly above the unit on fire on the 5th floor.

The fire to the unit on the 6th floor was extinguished with 1 water jet; the fire was confined to the bedroom itself. There was no fire to the unit on the 7th floor.

While conducting checks on all the floors, SCDF received information that there was a child in a unit on the 4th floor. SCDF conducted forced entry and rescued one female child. She was sent to KKH for suspected smoke inhalation.

One SCDF firefighter was also sent to CGH due to exhaustion. He has since been discharged.

Fire was brought under control within 20 minutes. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
