At 0739hrs, SCDF received a call alerting us to black smoke showing at 19 Defu Lane 4. Upon receiving the notification, SCDF resources which include 2 Fire Bikes, 3 Fire Engines, 2 Red Rhinos, 5 Supporting Vehicles, 1 ambulance, with approximately 40 personnelwere immediately dispatched to 19 Defu Lane 4.

SCDF arrived at19 Defu Lane 4 within 8 minutes. Black smoke could be seen by the responding fire crew and upon arrival fire could be seen at the two storey factory. The fire was seen burning intensely at the front portion of the factory. The area of operations measured about 50m by 50m.

SCDF fire-fighters immediately set up offensive fire fighting water jets to prevent the fire from spreading. The fire involved wooden products and was confined to the front portion of the factory. Fire was brought under control within 30 minutes and extinguished by 8 water jets. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
