At 0540hrs, SCDF was alerted to smoke-logged situation at Orchard Towers. Upon receiving the notification, SCDF resources which included 2 Fire Engines, 1 Red Rhino, 2 Fire Bikes, 1 Ambulance and 3 Support Appliances were dispatched immediately to the incident site.

Upon arrival, SCDF found units on the first floor to be heavily smoke-logged and promptly carried out ventilation. SCDF also conducted forcible entry to gain access to unit #01-21. The SCDF fire fighters found an electrical circuit board on fire and extinguished it with the use of 1 water jet.

About 20 people were evacuated from the first four floors of the building by the building management. There was no report of any injuries. The cause of fire is under investigation.
