Rubbish Fire At Shenton House, No 3 Shenton Way
25 January 2007

On 25th January 2007 at 0945hrs, SCDF was alerted to a fire at Shenton House, at No 3 Shenton Way. Shenton House is a 25-storey building comprising a multi-storey car park on its first 5 floors and office premises in the remaining floors.

SCDF deployed a fire engine and a support vehicle which arrived at the incident site within 5 minutes. The fire involved contents of a rubbish chute located at the loading and unloading bay on the ground level of the multi-storey car park. As a precautionary measure, the building management evacuated their occupants prior to SCDF"s arrival.

The smouldering fire was confined to the rubbish chute and was extinguished by the SCDF using an internal hose reel jet. There was no casualty in the incident and the cause of fire is being investigated by the SCDF.
