SCDF Rescues 59 Persons Stranded in Floods

Around 0524hrs, SCDF received calls alerting us of flooding at various parts of Singapore. Upon receiving the notifications, 4 fire engines were immediately dispatched to the incident locations.

  • At 0524hrs, Upper Thomson Road near Thomson Plaza " SCDF dispatched 1 fire engine and assisted about 20 passengers from 1 SBS Transit double-decker bus and about 10 cars stuck in water to safety. No one was trapped or injured.

  • At 0548hrs Eng Neo Ave, near Bukit Timah Rd Junction " SCDF dispatched 1 fire engine and evacuated more than 20 passengers stranded in vehicles. No one was trapped or injured.

  • At 0559hrs, 63 Mayflower Ave " SCDF dispatched 1 fire engine to this location. As the flood water was mainly at the road, the occupants of the unit were advised to remain indoors by SCDF. No one was trapped or injured.

  • At 0601hrs, Junction of Orchard Road, near to Borders " SCDF dispatched 1 fire engine. SCDF evacuated 15 passengers stranded in vehicles to safety. No one was trapped or injured. Water was approximately at knee level.
