SCDF was alerted to a case of fire at Blk 788E Woodlands Crescent, 6^th floor unit at about 3:18 am. 2 Fire Engines, 2 Red Rhinos, 2 Ambulances and 4 Supporting Vehicles were immediately dispatched to the incident site.

Upon SCDF arrival, fire was well alight and involved contents of the living room and a study room. Donning breathing apparatus sets, SCDF firefighters extinguished the fire within 20 minutes using 2 water jets.

SCDF firefighters found an unconscious elderly man in a toilet and pulled him out of the burning unit. SCDF paramedics immediately administered CPR on him and this was continued while en-route to hospital. SCDF firefighters also found an elderly woman and a man in his 20s standing on the window ledge outside one of the bedrooms. Both were rescued by SCDF.

Around 150 residents were evacuated from the affected block.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
