The inaugural ASEAN Strategic Policy Dialogue on Disaster Management (SPDDM) was held last year on 2 November in Singapore. Following this Dialogue, ASEAN has come up with the "ASEAN Vision 2025 on Disaster Management", which charts the strategic direction for ASEAN in disaster management for the next ten years. In view of its success, the ASEAN SPDDM will now be held annually in Singapore to sharpen ASEAN"s strategic engagements and thought leadership in disaster management.
The second ASEAN SPDDM was held today at Pan Pacific Hotel with Mr K Shanmugam, Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law gracing the event and delivering the opening address.
