W.e.f. 1 Apr 2024 onwards, refresher training for Fire Station Emergency Medical Technicians will be enhanced and the In Camp Training period will be extended from 19 to 23 days. Please check with your Deputy Commander Fire Station or unit for more info.

W.e.f. 1 Jul 2024, SCDF will change its sender ID for NS Mobilisation matters from “91449746” to “80709995”. This follows the gov.sg SMS Sender ID announcement on 13 Jun 2024 and aims to help recipients recognise and authenticate SMSes from SCDF.

"OPERATION LION HEART" (PADANG CITY, SUMATRA EARTHQUAKE) SCDF Operation Lionheart deployment to Padang City, Sumatra Earthquake - Situation Update 4

ASEAN Secretary General, Dr Surin Pitsuwan visited the SCDF Lionheart Contingent at their base camp on 06 Oct 2009, Tuesday at 1215hrs (local time).

Dr Surin was briefed by Contingent Commander, LTC Kadir Maideen on the search and rescue efforts and support rendered by the team for the past four days. Dr Surin expressed his gratitude to the Singapore team for rendering assistance to a fellow ASEAN member country.

This morning at 0900hrs (local time), while standing by at the base camp and preparing for the contingent"s departure, SCDF was requested to send a team of 6 rescuers led by CPT Kelvin Tan (Rescue Platoon Commander) to continue search and rescue (SAR) operations at the Jln Diponegoro site (collapsed library). The team was assisted by heavy plant from the Indonesian SAR team. There were no reports of survivors so far. SCDF team will continue to operate at the Jln Diponegoro site to carry out SAR.
